Recipe Ingredients for French Onion Soup

2 teaspoons 67% Buttery Spread
4 onions large
1/4 c water
1/4 c cooking sherry
1 Pepper, Black
2 teaspoons Thyme, Dried
64 oz Organic Vegetable Broth

Recipe Directions for French Onion Soup

Heat a large saucepan over medium high heat. Add butter, heating it until it foams, and then add onions. Reduce heat light brown deglaze the pan; Add water and scrape the brown bits form the bottom of the pan with wooden spoon. Cont. cooking the onions. When the bottom of the pan starts to turn brown again. deglaze a second time with sherry. Cook until onions turn a dark golden brown about 20 mins. Add thyme, black pepper, then slowly pour in stock to simmer 15 mins.
