Easy French Onion Soup. Change it up with whatever you have in the house.

Recipe Ingredients for French Onion Soup

8 cup No Salt Added Fat Free Beef Flavored Broth
0.2 cup Flour, All Purpose
1.5 tbsp Unsalted Butter
5 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
5 tsp Garlic
2 tsp, ground Thyme, Dried
1 serving Merlot
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 cup Croutons, Seasoned

Recipe Directions for French Onion Soup

  1. Over medium heat, heat butter and oil. Add thinly sliced onions. Cook for about 30 minutes, until onions are tender and sweet. Stir in garlic and wine. Cook over medium high until the liquid is gone. Add flour, and cook over medium low heat until flour is no longer raw. Add broth. Stir and continue to cook, over medium high heat, stirring occasionally for an hour.

  2. Heat oven to broil. Place soup in stoneware or other heatproof bowls. Add a few croutons and sprinkle cheese over top. Place in13x9 pan for safety. Heat for about one minute or until cheese is bubbly. Watch carefully.
