French Onion Souop with toasted croutons and cheese

Recipe Ingredients for French Onion Soup

2 gallons beef broth
5 pounds red onions
1/2 cup flour
1/2 cup oil
1 tsp salt
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
8 ounces mozzarella cheese
16 ounces french bread

Recipe Directions for French Onion Soup

  1. Heat oil over medium high heat.

  2. Add onions and stir to coat with the oil. Add the flour and stir to coat. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring continuously.

  3. Add beef broth and Worcestershire sauce. Turn heat to high and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 1 hour or until onions are tender.

  4. Slice French bread and place on baking sheet. Brown on both side under broiler.

  5. Spoon soup into oven-safe crocks, top with sliced french bread and cheese. Place under broiler for about 1 minute, until cheese is melted and golden brown.
