I made it with scallops and shrimp. Original recipe called for mussels. Served over linguine.

Recipe Ingredients for Fra Diavola Sauce

12 garlic cloves, minced
1 1/2 tsp. hot red pepper flakes
1/4 cup olive oil
28 ounce can diced tomatoes
14 1/2 ounces crushed tomatoes
2 tbsp. tomato paste
2 tsp. dried oregano
1 tsp. dried basil
1/3 cup red wine

Recipe Directions for Fra Diavola Sauce

  1. Heat oil in 12 inch skillet.

  2. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes; stir.

  3. Add tomatoes, paste, oregano, basil, and wine; simmer about 15 minutes or so until sauce thickens.

  4. Add precooked, defrosted shrimp to sauce to heat thoroughly. Cook scallops in separate pan. Once opaque in color, add scallops to Fra Diavola sauce and continue to simmer.

  5. Meanwhile cook linguine.

  6. Serve over linguine.
