This recipe contains enough dough for 2 medium very THIN crust pizza's (8 slices) or 1 thick crust pizza. For a thicker crust, roll out slightly smaller and allow dough to re-rise after rolling out and placing on pizza dish.

Recipe Ingredients for Foxriver's Whole Wheat Pizza

1 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 cup white flour (all purpose)
1 oz yeast, dried, made according to directions
1/8 tsp sugar
1 cup water
1/2 tsp garlic salt
1 dash black pepper
1 dash basil, dried
2 oz tomato sauce
1/2 onion, chopped
1 tsp garlic, minced
2 oz mushroom (Portabello)
4 oz chicken, cooked, chopped
4 oz mozzarella cheese, grated

Recipe Directions for Foxriver's Whole Wheat Pizza

  1. Make up yeast according to directions on packet.

  2. Mix with flour, garlic salt, sugar 1/2 the basil and water into dough.

  3. Kneed for 10 mins. (this is enough dough for 2 medium THIN crust pizza's)

  4. Spray a bowl with pam, place dough in bowl, cover with cling film and towel and allow to rise in warm place for 45 minutes.

  5. Meanwhile prepare toppings.

  6. Remove risen dough from bowl, kneed lightly for 2 minutes.

  7. Roll out dough into two medium rounds (or one large one) and place onto pizza dish.

  8. Spread tomato sauce on top, add seasonings (garlic salt, black pepper and herbs) and sprinkle with 3/4 of the cheese.

  9. Add other toppings and finish off with the remaining cheese.

  10. Bake for 17-20 minutes at 450 degrees (until crust is golden and crispy).

  11. Remove from oven and slice into eight pieces.

  12. Serve immediately.
