Recipe Ingredients for Foxriver's Turkey Meatballs

1 lb ground Turkey
1 onion, chopped
1 teaspoon garlic, minced
1 tablespoon olive oil
4 oz mushrooms, can, drained
1 1/2 tablespoons mixed herbs (Italian)
1 tablespoon basil
4 tsp tomato paste
16 oz can tomato sauce
3/4 cup 2 % milk
1 dash onion salt
1 dash black pepper

Recipe Directions for Foxriver's Turkey Meatballs

  1. Combine turkey with 2 tsp tomato paste and the mixed herbs.

  2. Roll into small meatballs approx size of walnuts.

  3. (This recipe yields 32-33 meatballs)

  4. put meatballs on non stick cooking tray.

  5. Bake in oven 350 degrees for approx 15 minutes

  6. Turn occasionally, until they are golden brown.

  7. While they are baking, make sauce and pasta.

  8. Saute onion and garlic in olive oil until soft.

  9. Add mushrooms and basil, onion salt and pepper, stir for a minute.

  10. Add tomato sauce and milk.

  11. Stir until warmed through and bubbling slightly, add a sauce thickener if required.

  12. Combine sauce with cooked, drained pasta and serve with meatballs on top.
