Ok, I know this is sort of gross, but I am drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day (sometimes less, sometimes a lil more) and I go to the bathroom approx. 15-30 minutes after I drink it.  I know that my body is probably not absorbing the water it needs...I mean I don't ever feel dehydrated, so I am not sure what is wrong???Any answers???

I have not had this problem before starting counting calories

This happens.  Your body is not used to having that much water.  It does need it, but it is just not used to having it.  So it runs it on through.  The good news is that once your body adjusts to having that much water it will use it the way nature intended.  Your body will be well hydrated and everything will work better.  It just takes a little time.

No worries I do exactly the same thing.I am a peeing machine!I guees pee is better than no pee! :)

Thanks to both of you (I know this is a very late reply, sorry)...dynacat I did start using the bathroom less after a few weeks of drinking just water, I am still trying to keep up the habit of drinking at least 8 glasses of water a day. I started drinking a little bit of cranberry juice once in awhile just to cleanse my urinary tract, and it helped as well. msg5374 I do still pee a lot compared to some people, but I am not to concerned about it.

Plus I have lost over 10lbs and am still losing, so I am really happy!!! Laughing

Thanks Again!!!

Only advice I can give you is "If it aint white, it aint right"!! So as long as your pee is clear, your doing okay. Its just gonna be annoying to pee so much

The slower you drink water, the longer it stays with you.  If you're gulping down glasses of water, that may be why you're peeing it out 15 mins later.

I'm having the same situation where I have to go to the toilet very often. I'm still a student, if I have let say 4 hours-straight classes, I will go to the toilet once in every hour. I don't know if there's something wrong with my urinary system but I think it's normal to pee a lot if we drink a lot.

If you're well-hydrated, the extra water you take in will come out again taking the retained water with it.  The darker your pee the more dehydrated you are so, drinking until your pee is clear is the way to go like se1289 says.

Thanks to all the advice!!! My pee is definately clear now ;) so at least I know I am hydrated ;)

SE1298, you are spot on! My doctor told me that it takes about 40 minutes for the bladder to fill after fluid consumption so what you are experiencing is normal. As someone who has achieved experiencing extreme weight loss results myself, and based on extensive research regarding weigh loss, One key element to weight loss success is drinking a lot of water. I would recommend 1 gallon of water a day if you can. No less that 1/2 gallon per day. This will insure that your body is not holding on to excess water. Reduce sodium intake as well.

I feel your pain!  I've been really upping my water intake this week, which was pretty much non-existent before.  I'm currently at 3 16.9 ounce bottles a day, trying to get it up to 4, but it's hard because I'm already peeing SO much!!  I don't drink it fast.  It takes me a couple hours usually to nurse a bottle, except for right after my workout where I usually down at least half of one, lol.  But it seems like I'm running up to the bathroom every half hour, but at least that's added exercise because our only bathroom is upstairs.  :-)

Thanks everyone for all the advice and support...odd subject for support I guess...LOL, but then again I needed to make sure it was "healthy" =)
