are you male? the minimum calories a man should consume a day is 1500. and plus, you're really tall - so you should probably eat more than 1800. maybe like 2000-2200?
and i like to at lots of small meals too.
Maybe you're just used to being really full after a meal? If you eat smaller meals, you may never get that "stuffed" feeling.
Also, it taked several days to get used to less food in general. Try drinking a glass of water or having some low sodium broth or tea to fill your stomach.
For me I cannot do both calorie restriction and start up exercise at the same time because I get TOO HUNGRY. So when I started up this time, I started up with 2000 cal/day and just walking (I'm 5'8', 208 206, and a woman). Once I got used to tracking and staying within my limits, I added workouts and then lowered to 1800/day. It's made things a lot easier, I don't get ravenously hungry anymore. In a few weeks I'm gonna lower calories again (or maybe I'll wait until after the holidays ;).
I'd say up your calories (2200?) until your body is used to the increased exercise. Eating more often is better than two large meals, but decreasing your calorie intake too drastically will likely stall your metabolism after a bit.
For breakfast every morning eat 1-2 servings of large flake oatmeal. With that eat 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (and an artificial sweetener if you prefer). It will do amazing things for your appetite. Try it for two or three days and see how you feel.
It works because the whole grain of the oats takes a lot longer to digest and the cinnamon helps cells utilize blood sugar. It is especially helpful for those of us with blood sugar problems, which you may not even realize you have, but it'll help control anyone's appetite.
I also add fruit and fat free/sugar free yogurt to my breakfast but what you add is up to you. The important thing to remember is "Large Flake" oatmeal (it can be microwaved so it's quicker) and regular ground cinnamon.
You definately need to eat more. I also suggest you start some strength training - that way those calories can go towards building muscle! The more muscle you have, the higher your basal metabolic rate.
Also, take a look at what you're eating. You could have one Big Mac for 700 calories, or three and a half cups of brown rice for 700 calories - which would keep you fuller longer? Adding veggies to your entree or as side dishes can also fill you up more. Also be sure that you're getting enough protein! Good luck. :)

I am new here-6ft. 210 lbs, (want to get to 185 lb.)I started working out doing some cardio. I also started eating 6-8 times a day (instead of 2 big meals) staying under 1,800 cal. -- while eating healthy-- I am trying to jump start my metabolism--only problem is I'm always hungry now---is this normal???? do I need to change something???
