Is it possible to lose 2lbs in 2 days?!

Quote  |  Reply

I weighed myself 2 days ago at night, then again this morning and it said I lost 2lbs. Is that possible? Could it just be because I weighed myself at 2 different times of the day?

I'm trying to lose weigt, and I went to the gym twice in those 2 days, but I find it hard to believe I could lose 2 lbs in such a short period of time.

Am I crazy?

My guess is because you weighed in the evening the first night and the morning a couple days later. Most people would suggest weighing yourself in the morning right after you wake up and go to the bathroom. That way your food from the day before has digested and bodily waste has also been expelled.

If you weight at this time and then weigh again at the end of the day, after dinner or before bed it is likely you'll see a substantial difference from the food and water you've taken in throughout the day.

Whether you want to weigh in the morning or afternoon I would suggest to pick one and stick with it. I prefer to weigh in the morning, I think it's the most consistent measure. Hope that helps.

Keep up the good work!

Thanks for the suggestion. I figured that was what it was!

yup your body changes around 2lbs a day depending on time of day/when you last went to the bathroom/what you ate, that kind of stuff

My weight can fluctuate to as much as 4lbs in one day...it's really crazy! Just weigh yourself at the same time of day Smile

I lost seven pounds in one day. Kinda freaky.

Its possible to fluctuate wildlt depending on how much you like refreshments. A two litre bottle of diest pepsi weighs 4lb

Good ideas.

I think I will only weigh myself once a week.

Thanks for the help guys!

Yes, it's possible.  Weight fluctuates.  No idea if you're crazy or not.  :D  Unrelated.

You can lose more than that in one day if you dehydrate yourself enough, which I wouldn't recommend because of the risk of DEATH!

Weight fluctuates, those small fluctuations can be attributed to water rentention, sodium intake, and a woman's time of the month.

wow 5lbs!

hmm... I weigh 140 at 5'4 so I dk what my usual fluctuation would be
