Hi everyone. I'm starting a diet tomorrow. and according to the boots diet website... to lose 1lb a week I will need to cut my calorie intake to 1400 kcal each day and I will need to exercise to lose 200 kcal each day (or atleast 5 days a week).
My question is, is there anyone out there who has followed this diet plan before and has it worked for you?
Hello ! My Doctor put me on a 1400cal diet and It does work. I was told to eat 1400cal a day and to exercise for at least 45 min a day and in the first week i lost 8lbs :-) so hope that helps ya.It also might depend on your current weight. I would just go talk to your doctor and see what he/she recommends for your body type.
Hey, aww thats good news that it works. I have read over sooo many diet plans that its hard to choose one. this seems perfect but was just a bit skeptical. to know it works is good news! do you still use this diet and exercise plan? if so, how much do you lose a week on it?
I lost 170 lbs by eating a 1200-1500 calories a day. I didn't follow any type of specific eating plan though. I did apply a lot of the basic principles of volumetrics though which was filling up with large volume/low calorie foods. When you're eating restricted calories, you have to find ways to to satisfy your hunger without breaking your calorie "budget" and that's where filling up on fruits and veggies really comes in handy. I always try to have a fruit or serving of vegetables with every meal and learned to make other lower calorie substitutions. Egg whites in place of whole eggs, air popped popcorn, rice cakes, or other types of "popped" snacks in place of full fat versions, using hummus, greek yogurt, salsa in place of heavier or more caloric condiments, goat cheese or laughing cow cheese in place of full fat cheese (not all the time though)whole wheat sandwich thins or english muffins in place of regular sized buns for turkey burgers or sandwiches. The list could go on and on! I still eat calorie dense or foods that are high in healthy fats (avocado, extra virgin olive oil, nuts/seeds, occasionally full fat cheese) but in much smaller portions.
@ born that's great.
I tend to eat 1500 calories and work out for 2 hours to loose 3 lbs a week...
I see it as a great way, but many people have told me I am doing it to fast...
I take a vitamin pill, eat enough fats, carbs, proteins so.....
Only Issue I have is High Blood Pressure which is at 129/89 but with my pill drops too 120/80..
I am at 270 right now and the fastest way to lower my HBP is to loose weight fast...
i eat 1500-1600 calories a day and exercise 5 times a week for 30 minutes each time (burning about 300 cals each workout). so far i have lost about 10 lbs in 9 weeks.
My daily calorie goal is just under 1500 a day, it was 1700, but this seems to be working better. I've been on CC for just over a month and have only done the -<1500 cal intake for the past 2 weeks. I've lost 5 pounds in 1 month, which doesn't sound like much, HOWEVER, my husband has commented on my shrinking, and my last measurements made me very happy! So I wouldn't recommend anyone to go just by what the scale says. I'm naturally very muscular so I'll ALWAYS be heavier than I look! I've just added 'Shirataki' noodles to replace most of my pasta meals and add them to my soup meals for bulk. They are very low in calories <20/serv., hardly any carbs <5-10 per serving depending on the type you get. They have no flavor so they take on the flavor of the seasonings and sauces/soups you put them in. Some people might not like the 'rice noodle' -like texture, but for those who do, I think it's a great choice. I just started with them so I hope to see a great decrease in my carb intake per day. Some even have 3-8grams of fiber per serving!
Thanks guys this is all really positive and is a huge releif to me to know the 1400 cal diet works! I'll be taking everyones advice and tips on board! thanks so much guys.xx
