Tiger Woods is a golfer....

He puts it in every hole.  Embarassed

I really don't care who or what he did.  He's a golfer.

Shhhhh don't tell mah secretz!

I so agree with this!  It's time to get over it!  Unless we are going to publicly flog Tiger, sew a scarlet A on his chest and put him in stocks, I think we need to move on!  Yes, he cheated multiple times on his wife.  Yes it was in all the papers, and yes we made a few jokes about it, but enough is enough.  If his wife chooses to forgive him that's her business.  None of it is our business.  Just let him play golf and move on!

He finally cowboy-ed up and allowed the press some question and answer time.

The scandal is done.

Sex addiction....ha.....me too....I got it bad....the only problem with me is I'm not a billionaire so it does cut down on me being able to feed my habit......god forbid I win the Powerball.....I'll be outta control....Wink

Control is over-rated.

I don't think the best sex money could buy would be worth a penny.

No but it would certainly cost a lot more than that.

Sex addiction my ass.

Just once I wish one of these celebs would sack up, walk up to the mic and say "Yeah, I did it... because I'm a horny guy and they wanted to get with me. Oh, and a special shout out to all those people who want to hate on me for getting some: here are my balls, you may gargle them. Thank you, no more questions."

I tend to agree. I doubt the condition is as prevalent as people claim.

I think I'd actually pay money to hear a politician say that Hata.

Isn't it kinda of crazy that we take athletes, like Tiger, and elevate them to "Rock Star" status and then ostracize them for behaving like rock stars?

Tiger plays with an extra stiff shaft.

Tour pro extra stiff I believe.

Mine is a ladies flex... natch.

He gets a lot more out of his club than most people could, I'm sure of that.

>;D

I think we're just far too apt to equate sex with immorality. I get the athletes=heroes thing, I just don't understand why sex matters one way or the other.

I think this might be it, right here... someone shows a proficiency for a sport, people start projecting their hopes and dreams on that person, and when he turns out to be (surprise surprise) only human, the group hate begins with a fervor.

That eternal cycle of Discovery -> Lionization -> Revelation -> Demonization.

Humans **** up. It's a fairly well-established pattern. And people tend to apply an ideal to the lives of others that they don't necessarily apply to themselves.

It's not that he has sex.  It's that he has sex with women other than his wife.

I know, but again: What has he done that...what's the stat?...something like 30% of other married men haven't?

Don't misunderstand, I find the breaking of a promise dishonorable in the extreme, but that's a personal choice for me. I am in no position to judge anyone on this planet.

If those men also made millions off of the public by portraying themselves as squeeky clean role models, then it would be the same.

He and about half of all the other married men on the planet... and a significant number of married women, by the by.

The church-sanctioned pair bond scenario clearly doesn't work as advertised. Hell, in some cultures infidelity is punishable by death and that hasn't stopped it. We need a new paradigm of relationships where emotional bonds aren't threatened mortally by accepting the fact that we are not by nature sexually monogamous creatures.

I highly doubt Tiger himself positioned it that way. He was used as a tool for promotions by people who wanted to project an image. It's more of a sad indictment that people can only be held up as role models by rejecting or burying their humanness, and that crucifixion inevitably follows when the facade slips and a bit of that humanity shines through.

Whether someone's marriage "works as advertised" or not, they either need to man up to their word--their promise--or take a step or two to end that bond before moving on to allegedly greener pastures.
