What are some good things to put in scrambled eggs? Like vegetables.
I need some yummy ideas. =)
Almost any veggie. Mushrooms, sweet potatoes, onions, garlic, peppers, squash, chopped kale, bok choy, tomatoes, olives, etc.
I didn't think about putting mushrooms in it....that sounds good! Lol, I love mushrooms.
I usually make my omelette with sauteed spinach, broccoli, and peppers and onions. Then top with cheese and ketchup :) I get all the vegetables frozen from Trader Joe's so all I have to do is thaw them in the microwave while I'm preparing my eggs

Your favorite veggies, grated cheese, chirizo, bits of ham or bacon, peppers, mushrooms, potatoes, onion, shallots, chives. I love to make fritatta with asparagus. Top with salsa.
homemade taco seasoning (i just googled a recipe, much better than the premade stuff they sell, its full of preservatives!), salsa and any of your favorite veggies. I like to top mine with spinach and some low fat greek yogurt!
Virtually anything. Seriously. Vegetables, cheese, chopped leftover meat, anything.
I like to add leftover rice or noodles to mine, for a quick dinner. My favorite is probably noodles with spinach, feta cheese, and onion.
I love an eastern style scramble with stir-fry veggies and a little low sodium soy sauce.
When I brown hamburger with salt, pepper, diced onion... for a recipe, I save a little to use later in making an egg omelet. I add the browned hamburger and any vegetables I wish to.
I had scrambled eggs this morning with the leftovers from Moe's which was shredded cheese, mushrooms, onions, bell peppers, a salsa that consisted of tomatoes and cilantro. It was great. I think I am going to try to make my own from scratch without the salt to keep the sodium down.
Ooooh I <3 scrambled eggs. I like to do them a couple of different ways. I mean, like you said there are tonnnnes of things to do with them, as they are like a blank slate but here are my top 3:
1. Mozzarella, Tomato and Basil (or Pesto)
2. Cooked White Rice, Scallion and Shrimp, topped with Soya Sauce
3. Sharp Cheddar Cheese, Broccolli and Salsa
i just had this today for dinner! haha as weird as this sounds.... i add in broccoli with cheese sauce (green giant frozen brand) and syrup... u could just go with the syrup added to the eggs with sausage!! or steamed broccoli though. i swear it tastes amazing :) try it if you dont believe meee
I personally love scrambled eggs, however I have now switched to egg beaters and they just don't have the flavor of fresh eggs so I go for the salsa and a dollop of low fat sour cream. the egg beaters make a great omelet, just let your imagination go wild.
I add all kinds of vegetables but especially like omlettes with mushroom, onion and pepper. I like to make the eggs omlette style because you can cook it better in a non-stick pan with PAM eliminate butter or oil. The spray does not seem to work as well with just scrambled eggs. My favorite thing to add though is a wedge of any variety of LAUGHING COW cheese, which is 35 calories a wedge. The chipolte flavor is really good with the eggs if you like a little zing. The laughing cow is also great if you spread it on one of the 100 calorie bagels to have with your eggs or for a snack with Polaner sugar free all fruit preserves, about 10 calories tbsp.
