I have been eating plain yogurt for a few weeks and now I'm kind of sick of it! Anyone have any good recipes for how to use up the 2 large tubs of yogurt in my fridge before they go bad. Sweet recipes, savory recipes, I like everything! Please share your ideas with me :)
Sauces? I believe tzatziki sauce is made with yogurt.
I like to mix it 1-1 with salsa, it makes a great creamy dip for veggies or crackers.
1/2 c yogurt+2 tsp cocoa powder+ 2 tsp sugar or sweetener...it tastes like chocolate pudding!
Use yogurt instead of oil in a cake, bread or muffin recipe.
Use it instead of mayo in a chicken salad.
I agree with the dip for veggies its good.
1.5cups plain yogurt
1 egg(Or add 1/4cup pumpkin instead, I do this to make pumpkin pancakes)
1.5tsp baking powder
*Then you can add anything you want (berries, banana, apples, choc chips)
Also not sure what brand of yogurt you are using but Chobani yogurt has many recipes on their website
I do I do! I just made a bunch of stuff with Non-fat Greek yogurt.
greek yogurt brownie recipe (I adapted this recipe from this apple sauce brownie recipe...the apple sauce brownie is even better! You could follow the recipe except replace apple sauce with greek yogurt. Here is what I did....
1/2 cup greek yogurt
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup whole wheat flour
1/4 cup brown rice flour
1/4 almond flour
1/4 cup rolled oats
Mix it with tahini and a bit of lemon juice for a great dip/sause/dressing.
I love yogurt with peanuts for a light lunch.
plain yogurt + tomato sauce/paste + spiaces and herbs make a great marinade
no way! does it really taste like chocolate pudding??? i am very intrigued! will try that tomorrow!!! :)
You could try using it in smoothies. Add about 1 c of yogurt to 2-3 cups of your favorite fruits with a cup of spinach and/or carrots and you have a realy nutritious treat! I add flaxmeal seed to make it more filling as a breakfast smoothie.
It's a bit more tangy and yogurty, so if you're expecting it to taste perfectly puddingy you'll be disappointed. But if you remember that this is YOGURT not PUDDING, I think it's delicious!
