I grind coffee beans fresh every morning in it, I make muffins a few at a time in it (healthy ones) and it makes a fabulous fruit smoothie.
My favorite is to take the big cup and fill it with one banana and the rest the frozen mixed berries (blackberries, blueberries, strawberries) and a splash of apple juice or v8 splash and just turn it on and it comes out so good and a lot less calories than smoothies made with milk or yogurt.
Omelettes in there are pretty awesome too. They turn a bit of a funny color but it whips so much air into them that the omelettes come out super fluffy
It's also great for chopping up onion since they make me cry lol
they are sooo easy to clean! before I had a dishwasher, I would just put a dab of soap in the container, add some water and put it back on the blender for a few seconds, and it bubbled up and got rid of the stuck on food. Everything goes in the top rack of the dishwasher. The cups with handles are great too.. I use those for my smoothies. And yes, the omlettes are soo good and fluffy!
but i have my $14 chopper from the store... and the blender from when we were 1st married...
i did get ideas for my chopper & blender from the infomercial though... love making fresh salsa and smoothies ;)

After my cardio workouts, I take 1 cup skim milk, 1 scoop whey vanilla protien powder, and 1 cup frozen strawberries, and blend til smooth. I do sit my strawberries out for a few minutes on the counter first, and then chop them up a little before I add them. I just love it!
Ingredients 1/2 banana, sliced 6 oz skim milk 1 tsp vanilla extract 1 tsp cinnamon 1/3 cup ice, crushedDirections
- Chop half a banana into slices, place in plastic baggy and freeze overnight. (Do the same with the other half and save for future shake. Trust me, there will be a future shake.)
- Gather ingredients.
- Place half banana (now chopped and frozen) into blender. Add 1/3 cup ice, 6 ounces of skim milk and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
- (Optional: Add 1 packet of Splenda for extra sweetness)
- Pour mix into tall glass. Sprinkle about 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon on shake.
- Drink it. God loves you and this is proof.
I just got a Magic Bullet for Christmas and am looking for recipes too. I only see one here. I'm looking for more or if I come up with any I will post them also. Any where else I can look? Thank You!
The bullet is great for soups. I made a sweet potato soup around Thanksgiving, and I've used it to blend fiber one into crumbs, and graham crackers into crumbs.
Search soup recipes that contain the word "blend" or "blended" and you'll come up with some good ideas. I don't have any recipes on hand.
The best thing I use it for is dips, smoothies, and omlets.
Fave smoothy: 1tbsp PB2, 1 cup vanilla yogurt, 1 cup water, and a little milk. Makes a PB shake of sorts.
I make a great chicken salad in my magic bullet. I just throw in some red peppers, green peppers, a chicken breast, some red wine vinaigrette, a little olive oil, and green onion. Mix it all up and then eat the salad over a bed of lettuce or scoop it into a pita. Sometimes I throw in a little reduced fat cheddar cheese or pepper jack cheese too.
I like to make a mango smoothie, 1 cup mango juice, one cup kefir yogurt and then if I feel like it a scoop of vanilla protein powder. It cleans very easily and I do put the cups through the dishwasher whenever I don't feel like hand washing them. I use this so much more often than the blender sitting on my counter.
I just got the magic bullet today, and already made a great soup! I took frozen cauliflower, onions and asparagus (in large cup) and covered it 3/4 with Chicken Broth. Heated it for 3 minutes, then switched to the four cross blade, added 1/2 tablespoon of evoo and a splash (literally) of ff half/half, blended until smooth and it was DELICIOUS, FAST and very low fat/low cal!
Can't wait to try all sorts of different recipes!
LOVE my Magic Bullet for smoothies and shakes. Here's the most awesome and nutritious chocolate shake you could ever have...
- Breyers Free Double Chocolate Ice Cream (90 cal and 0 fat for 1/2 c serving)
- One small banana
- Skim milk
- 1 tablespoon of peanut butter (protein- yayyy)
- 2 cubes ice (lightly crushed)- I find otherwise that the MB won't break them down easily.
All you need is about 1/2 c to 3/4 cup of the ice cream, break up the bananas, add the PB, eyeball how much skim you want in there (less for thick, more for thin) add the ice and presto. The shakes usually come in at about 300 calories or less and any fat you get is from the PB and you get protein too. These taste SO DELICIOUS that no one would imagine they are good for you. What a treat!
Magic Bullet is so great! I just bought mine last night. It has already paid for itself!
First thing i made was Salsa
I used about 1 Jalapeno (I bought a jar of sliced jalapenos)
I pinched off about tablespoon of fresh Cilantro
1 clove of garlic
12 cherry Tomatoes
I had a small white onion and used half of it
Just mixed it up till the onion was all chopped up. Came out a weird color but the salsa was amazing. I added more jalapenos the second time i made it. Made it better. And i had Lime Flavored Tostitos Tortilla chips. I usually put fresh lime in my salsa, but did not have any last night. This made just a small amount. With most recipes to make extra you'd have to tinker with it to get it right. I hope everyone (or at least someone) enjoys this. I'm a salsa fanatic, so it's hard not to please me with salsa. A little Flavor, and a little Kick is all i ask.
The bullet is excellent for Salsa I agree. I grew my own salsa in the garden last year lol and I loved bringing in all the fresh ingredients that I picked and throwing them straight in there. We lived on Salsa during the summer - yumm and very low cal and good for you so long as you go easy on the chips :) I can eat it on anything.
I also use the bullet to make our own baby food - we puree the food, put it in ice cube trays to freeze it then store the little baby food cubes in ziplocs. In the morning I can just pop out what I need and let it thaw or microwave it a few seconds and it's fast, convenient, super healthy baby food for cheap :)
