Hello Im also the mother of a breastfed baby who is 5 months old, and i still have 10 pounds to go. I also would like to talk to other moms who are in the same boat. Its hard trying to diet while still consuming enough calories to support your milk supply.

I dont think they are taking breast feeding into account though. I definitely do not want to decrease my milk supply, but i would like to lose a little more quickly!
Thanks, I know im so confused as to what my calorie intake should be. My analysis told me i should only consume 1500 calories per day but i know that breast feeding moms should be consuming at least 500 extra calories per day, to support their milk supply, but im not sure whether or not consuming those 500 extra calories per day will allow me to still lose weight. I have an appt. with my ob/gyn this month, im going to ask her if she has any suggestions, then i will get back to everyone.

I have a 5 month old (my 2nd) and am also currently breastfeeding. My Ob/Gyn suggested 1500 calories to be the minimum. She said it would be perfectly alright to eat 1500 calories AND exercise. I have been following this for 2 weeks and am steadily losing weight and couldn't be more excited about it! I am only 6 lbs away from my 150lb starting pregnancy weight. Although, my goal is to be 135lbs. Hope this helps!!!
Thanks so much that really does help. Ive been getting the third degree from my mother and sister about not eating enough calories but now i know i've been consuming just enough. And congrats on only having 6 pounds to go!
