Don't eat anything today that you'll regret tomorrow ;)
Nothing tastes as good as being thin feels.
If its important to you, you will find a way. If not you'll find an excuse.
If you're tired of starting over, stop giving up.
The only person standing in the way of your goals is YOU.
Sweat is your fat cells crying.....I like that one it motivates me to work harder when im working out.
A moment on the lip, a lifetime on the hips.
Is it worth it?
Sometimes it will be (anyone who claims that nothing tastes as good as thin feels, I say bull - I've been thin, I've had my mom's chocolate pie. The pie tastes better. Fortunately, as long as I keep the pie as a special Thanksgiving-only treat, I can have both).
Sometimes it won't be.
If you can raise the bar for what choices you consider "worth it" over time, you will make progress.
Anything worth having is worth working for.
This one helps on days I really don't feel like going to the gym. I know I have to work to have what I want.
ZOMG I LOVE THIS!!!!
I have sticky noted posted on my fridge that reads:
"You're closer than you were yesterday."
My hubby always asks if that's a motivational quote for me or a warning for him!
"eat to live, don't live to eat" this helps me when i want thing when i'm not even hungry
Thought of another one. One I use when I slip up a little.
It's a journey not a sprint....
"If you're tired of starting over, stop giving up."
I just love that one! and all the others too, thanks for posting, now I'll go do my 50 mins cardio!!!
Mine is always, 'Thin doesn't lead to happiness; happiness is the key to thin.'
It's because I had a vicious cycle of self-loathing and it was ruining my efforts to loose weight. I used my hatred of my appearance to 'fuel' my weight loss and motivate me but it always made me too depressed to carry on for long before binging. It was only when I learnt to be happy and accept myself that I made good healthy progress. I guess I finally felt like I deserved to be thin like everyone else. Another one is
'You're not the fat girl. You're the strong intelligent and beautiful girl with a few extra pounds.'
'Love yourself WHATEVER your weight.'
I guess the most effective sayings are the ones that mean something to you.
Know your limitations, then defy them.
Focus on how far you've come, not how far you have to go.
You are far too smart to be the only thing standing in your way.
It took more than a day to put it on; it will take more than a day to take it off.
The difference between try and triumph is that little umph.
That voice in your head that says you can't do this is a liar.
Not everyone that worked hard has succeeded, but everyone that has succeeded has worked hard.
And my favorite: Excuses are for people who don't want it bad enough!
Thank you all of you. I have created a sheet of them to hang on my bulletin board here at work. I will also send them home. I don't like to sweat but maybe I'll be able to reframe that now.
I too have been good at shooting myself in the foot at almost every opportunity, punishing myself for my father's workman raping me when I was five or six. Fortunately, I don't need to do that anymore, although the habits are deeply ingrained and it takes consistent work to remain aware and conscientious.
I have two Italian Proverbs:
Anyone who is satisfied to stand still should not complain when others pass him.
He who does nothing does not fail.
Best wishes to everyone in their endeavors!!
week 3, 3 lbs lost
They're good ones.
A Dutch proverb is: If you do nothing, nothing happens.
or in Dutch: Als je niets doet gebeurt er niets.
My refrig note is JUST WALK AWAY.
I love it!
