I was diagnosed with PCOS a while back. I was wondering what are some other alternatives to treat this condition instead of medication. Please share!

try to limit your carbs and be active at least 5 days a week
cut out as much artificial food as possible
see what works for you.. couple years ago I lost a few LBS before I know I had PCOS.
when it came back, i tried again and was not able without Metformin, each person is different
I recently went off the pill because my doctor told me (based on my history of extremely irregular periods, high cholesterol, and weight problems) that I might have PCOS. My husband and I are planning to start TTC in the next year and I want to be off the pill long enough for my ObGyn to start testing if necessary before we're ready to get pregnant.
In addition to watching my weight, I'm taking some vitamin, mineral, and herbal supplements that have been recommended by several websites for PCOS women...as well as a few friends with a history of it. I'm taking daily doses of chromium, magnesium, fish oil, b-vitamin complex, zinc, and milk thistle. Most of these help with insulin-resistance related to PCOS and may assist with weight loss as well.
I've been off the pill for almost 2 months now and so far have been having regular cycles for the first time in my life (not counting the 14 years I was on the pill). I don't know if it has anything to do with the things I'm doing for PCOS or if my body just got used to having regular cycles from being on BC.
This is a question that really needs to be asked of an OB/GYN.
