Hi there I have noticed my salt intake is just too high and it is because of all the frozen chicken breasts I eat.
Does anybody know a brand or where you can purchase unsalted frozen chicken breasts?
Would be much appreciated thanks! (I live in Canada by the way just saying lol)
400 mg of sodium per 100 grams.
Both of these products are sold fresh but you can just freeze them yourself (individually package them)
See above. I have been recently having the Blue Menu flavoured ones, cajun and honey lemon I have in my freezer right now. They are delish.
I think Elmira poultry is a good option if you are in Ontario and maybe M&Ms. Not sure about M&Ms.
I watch the flyers for when the fresh ones are on sale and buy the two packs and freeze like that, one for me and one for hubby. Don't get them at Costco, their quality is terrible!
^ my Costco (Calgary) sells Lilydale, which I don't think are that bad. I'll buy a tray with 10-12 pieces, wrap each on in plastic and freeze them at once.
Thats good. My Costco also sells Lilydale in Ontario and they are the fattiest most disgustingly huge chicken breasts ever. Oversized and full of fat that I have to trim. I pay my butcher to do the trimming for me, I am not interested in having to do it all myself at home. I don't know why but its only Costco that has these low quality breasts in Ontario. Even the discount grocers have nicer meats.
Try to buy fresh, it has less sodium in it. You can always buy fresh and freeze the pieces individually in a ziploc bag.
