My boss is taking a few of us out to lunch today. Luckily, the restaurant has its menu online! I'm debating between salmon, which I love, and red snapper, which I've never tried. Since it's free, I don't have anything to lose!

Which one would you choose? Can anyone describe the taste of red snapper to me or compare it to some other fish? Thanks!

In my opinion, red snapper has a much milder fishy taste, even compared to salmon.  I say, if you haven't tried it, go for it!

I'd go for red snapper. I'm not a big salmon fan, and snapper doesn't taste as "fishy" :p

both salmon and snapper are mild fishy tasting fish.  i love them both.  sort of just depends on the mood i'm in as to which one i would choose.  i say go for the snapper though since you've never had it :-)
I definitely don't mind a fishy taste... I'm from eastern Canada! I may just try the snapper because I've had salmon tons of times but I hope it's not too lacking in flavour. It's served with a white-bean-avocado-payaya salad.
no, it definitely does not lack in flavor :)

I love red snapper. Very mild. I would compare it to alot of other white fish like orange roughy or halibut.

I got the snapper! It was coated in a lot of spice so I couldn't really take the fish but it was overall tasty :)
SALMON!!!! Snapper adapts to any flavor you put on it!
