You're supposed to refrigerate your pb? I always put mine in the cupboard..and I suppose I'm perfectly fine.
it depends if you have the skippy kidn of peanut butter or the kind with the oil on top?like the natural kinds. so if tis skippy or jiffy or whatever you dont have to refridgerate
To posters #2 and #3, Better 'n' Peanut Butter isn't actually peanut butter.  It's peanut 'product', for lack of a better word.  Half the cals, way less fat, and more carbs.  It tastes different than PB, but still very good in its own right.

To clementine6... I don't know.  Sorry.  I think I've always refrigerated mine, just because I wasn't sure.  Since there are preservatives in it, and it does say to refrigerate it, I'd do it unless you have a good reason not to.
I've left mine out in the past without any noticable problems. I suppose it would go rancid eventually.
Your supposed to refridgerate it? Oops, mines been out for quite awhile and is fine, so I think you should be good too (:
i have definately never refrigerated my peanut butter and im still alive- so thats a good sign

Yeah, because it lacks to oils, it does have the tendency to go rancid.  On another note, I just had to throw my jar away.  The shelf life of that stuff is not as long as regular peanut butter.  I went to use mine and found little fuzzy mold under the lid.  The jar was refrigerated since I bought it and it was about 10 months old.  I think the stuff should be consumed within 6 months after opening.

I didn't refrigerate mine either and it was fine. When I noticed that on the lable, I put it in the fridge and had to warm it up in the microwave before using it to make it spreadable.
