I eat cheerios multi-grain. Fairly tasty and relatively low in sugar and high in fiber and other good stuff.
I also used to eat Kashi Go-Lean, until I realized that they use some very processed ingredients, so I ditched it. But it's pretty delicious and filling, and high in protein/fiber. But again, they use some nasty processed stuff.
Barbara's Bakery's Puffins cereal (peanut butter flavour). I love the crunch though they're more of a snack than breakfast.
Nature's Path has some good ones in terms of whole grains & fiber but check the sugar content.
skip the cereal.
even my little sister knows that the stuff is garbage and doesn't fill you up for long.
HI, I always follow a rule I heard when it comes to cereal,,, the 5 and 5 rule
5 grams or higher in fiber per serving and 5 grams or lower in sugar per serving. I go to Trader joes and buy a high fiber cereal there. Its like 9 grams of fiber per serving and 2 grams of sugar I think.
But only cereal that I know vitimin fortified is Wheaties. Take a multi vitimin. I use a liquid based one I get from Costco. Its 5 calories ,taste good and they recomend 1 or 2 tablespoons a day. To me taking it liquid form digests into the blood better. But that is just my opinion.
hahaha sometimes you say some ridiculous things
That's not ridiculous. I can attest to the fact that cereal is NOT filling. Maybe some people are different...but my tummy will be growling 5 minutes after a bowl of cereal.
Well no kidding, cereal has ~120 calories per serving. It's not going to fill you up if you eat a bowl of it. Nor will an egg fill you up if you eat a single one. Nor will a single piece of toast. Nor will one handful of nuts.
I can go on and on.
I take more issue with the statement that cereal is garbage. I agree most cereals are, but that still leaves a good amount that are perfectly healthy and good for you.
If cereal dont fill yah up you must be doing the wrong cereals. I take one serving of high fiber cereal of trader joes. Add almond milk to it and a half cup of frozen blueberries. That fills me up for several hours. Its very satisfying.
Yeah most cereals are a bunch of processed garbage, but some brands actually don't have that many ingredients and aren't too processed. Like shredded wheat, and cascadian farm organic cereal,
Even still, cereal never fills me up long. I only eat it like 1 morning a week just so all the cereal doesn't go to waste(I tell my mom not to buy so much of it, yet she ignores me...). You're better off having some eggs or oatmeal, however cereal can be a conveniant quick breakfast at times. Just expect to have a mid-morning snack later on
I agree with this, it is a tasty cereal and if you are worried about iron in your diet this is a good source for it.
Protein fills you up! :) But if you really like cereal, try the "Eat Right" brand. I usually do a bowl of cereal w/ almond milk and make egg whites on the side for the protein.
