Arch of foot hurts on elliptical

Quote  |  Reply

So I have started going to the gym again and when I get on the elliptical after about 2 mins the arch of my left foot (only left foot) starts to feel uncomfortable and by 5 mins in it is burning so badly I have to get off.  (I used to be able to do 30 mins)  At first I thought it might be due to the arch supports that I have in my shoes so I took them out but it is still doing it.  Any ideas of what might be causing this and how to make it stop?

Undecided Omg I have the same problem, and it only happens on the elliptical machine, it kinda feels numb and a burning sensation. . . that I have to stop, i changed my shoes but it still happens.

Same problem here. I just try to adjust the position of my feet a lot and also try pedaling bakwards for a few minutes. It seems to help some.

I had that issue on the elliptical, but only when I set the ramp too high. I am kinda short and when I put the ramp at 9 or over I get that pain. Now I am at 8 and it went away, but I am having a weird puffy feeling in the middle of my calf but on the front of my leg over top of the bone. It doesn't hurt, but it feels like something is swollen between my skin and the bone. However, the leg looks normal and feels normal when I touch it? Is this a shin splint? It's pretty high up, almost to the knee. I never had an excercise injury before, because I never excercised. I now do a weight circuit and 3 miles in about 30 minutes on the interval setting on the elliptical 5 days a week. I started a little over 2 months ago
