UPDATE: Calorie Count desktop site to close March 15th, 2017

Dear Calorie Counters,

Over a decade ago we created Calorie Count, a vibrant platform that allows you to track your diet, live a healthier life, and connect with millions of members with similar goals. We’ve had many success stories, connections made, and advice shared.

With heavy hearts, we will be closing down the desktop site in mid-March, and the mobile app will shut down not long after. This was an extremely difficult decision for us to make after years of working on a vibrant community dedicated to health.

In order to help you stick to your health goals beyond Calorie Count, you will be able to request an export for your own personal use before March of your food, weight, activity, and recipe history here: https://www.caloriecount.com/settings/export.

Many of you have already experienced the changes we’ve made to the site (the mobile apps are unaffected at this time but will soon follow). For now, please bookmark this URL if you’d like to continue logging your foods via desktop or please use our mobile app

You will see that much of the content and many of the tools on Calorie Count will now have a much friendlier looking home on our affiliate site, Verywell.com. We’re already working on developing nutritious recipes to complement our extensive health and wellness articles. Check out our get-started guide with small, actionable steps to live healthier in 2017!

As we like to say, there’s strength in numbers. Let’s keep this community going strong! Stay connected with other Calorie Counters:

We wish you all the best in achieving your health goals,

The Calorie Count by Verywell Team

Will the new updates stop me being redirected to the verywell page when I click on a food to log?

If you update to the new logger, this will stop happening.

I am going to need help with this.  When I click on the new tool at the top of the page, it just takes me to the Verywell site.  Even clicking on the community/forums link takes me to the verywell site.  I just want to log my foods on my laptop again.  I use the app on my phone, but I cannot create recipes on the app.  I may have to change to another site, but all of my history is with caloriecount so I would rather not switch if this can be fixed.

Please help!!

im the same.. just goes to the verywell web site.. but where are the tools etc?  where do you login?  verywell just seems to be an advertising revenue web site with no useful purpose

Unfortunately, unless we manually (or use an old link), the links no longer even redirect to the forums.

Is this affiliate or a sell-out?

Wow! Talk about dropping the ball! I've been keeping a caloriecount.com log since 2008 & in 2017 you screwed it up! Where is the food logging? Where is the activity logging? Where is the analysis? WHERE IS ANYTHING OTHER THAN A VERYWELL.COM SPLASH PAGE?!?!!?
9 years of logging down the drain.
With no ability to log food, activity, water, WEIGHT nor track any of it I have no reason to use this site anymore. So, your effort to raise as revenue is backfiring because people like me will just log everything in our Fitbit log from now on.
Rachel... the website HAS NO NEW LOGGER!
Now I just realized I have 8 years worth of custom recipes & foods I have logged gone now too. Ugh!!! Fix the site!!!!

I just created a MyFitnessPal account.  Too frustrating in CalorieCount!!!

Rachel,

Can you explain what you mean by "If you update to the new logger..."?  What is this new logger?  How do I find it?

The link you suggest to bookmark (https://www.caloriecount.com/cc/account/index .php) is not new to me, and if I click on any of the "Log Foods" links, I go to https://www.caloriecount.com/cc/account/flog. php (the same logger as always).  I try to use this logger, but every day more and more foods that I regularly log instead redirect to the verywell website.  Am I missing something?

You can copy and paste recipes into MyFitnessPal and it will convert the ingredients automatically.  It wasn't perfect, but after a bit of editing, my recipe is in my database with easy effort.

What about our 10 years of journals?

This is very upsetting.

^THIS SO MUCH THIS.

There are groups of us that met here. We now get together in real life for weddings, births, vacations, etc.

We've lost friends we've made here (and had a Go Fund Me for the grown children to pays for the funeral costs of our fallen friends). We NEED to have all the journals and messages back. That is all we have left of them.

Yep, yep and yep!

I have stuff from members long before FB was a thing.  This is where we met and where most of our interactions occurred.  And some of those people are now deceased so....

Honestly hadn't logged in a while but with the new year, I was coming back to start up again.

Guess I am going to My Fitness Pal too.

I had recently come back, too. *to the powers that be* Barbarjinx is one of group that meets up with me and many others. Make it right.

Saragusa did what we're all trying to do now - take control of our health and diet. Although it was a mental struggle at first, Saragusa used Calorie Count (and a few of her own clever tricks!) to track everything she ate. As a result she's over 80 pounds lighter and a lot stronger than she was before.
