Time consuming to make, but positively delicious.

Recipe Ingredients for Foccacia Bread

3.75 cup Bread Flour
2 cup (8 fl oz) Water
0.38 tsp Yeast
0.75 tsp Salt, Table
0.75 tsp Sugars, Granulated

Recipe Directions for Foccacia Bread

  1. Beat the flour and water and yeast for about twenty minutes until it's the consistency of melted mozzarella cheese. Add salt and sugar and beat about three minutes more.

  2. Put in oiled bowl and allow to double in volume (about four hours).

  3. Place on oiled sheet and press out to flatten, leaving as many holes as possible. Let rest five minutes and stretch again. Continue this process until the dough as spread out over an entire jelly roll sheet.

  4. Let rise another hour or two beneath some oiled saran wrap.

  5. Preheat the oven for an hour at 450 before baking.

  6. Bake approx. 12 minutes.

  7. Before baking, season the bread by spreading olive oil and whatever seasonings you wish over the bread. (Dribbling the oil will work best rather than spreading it with a brush.)
