I modified a different recipe using applesauce in place of oil to help with the calories.

Recipe Ingredients for Focaccia Style Milled Flax Seed Bread

2 cups milled flax seed
1 tablespoon baking powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/4cup egg beaters
1/2 cup water
1/3 cup applesauce

Recipe Directions for Focaccia Style Milled Flax Seed Bread

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F. Prepare cookie sheet with oiled parchment paper.

  2. Mix dry ingredients.

  3. Add wet to dry.

  4. Let batter set for 2 to 3 minutes to thicken.

  5. Pour batter onto pan and spread.

  6. Bake for about 20 minutes, until it springs back.

  7. Cool and cut into 8 slices.
