Recipe Ingredients for Flour Tortillas

3 cups Flour
1/2 cup Butter
1 tsp Baking Powder
1/3 tsp Salt
1 cup Hot Water

Recipe Directions for Flour Tortillas

  1. Mix flour, salt and baking powder.

  2. Cut in butter with pastry knife until butter size of small peas.

  3. Pour in hot (NOT boiling) water all at once and mix with butter knife until dough pulls together into a ball. (Depending on altitude, you may need to add or subtract a tablespoon or so of water.)

  4. Dump dough onto a floured surface and cut into 8 pieces.

  5. Roll each piece out into circle with rolling pin on floured surface.

  6. Cook on hot, dry skillet until each side is lightly brown.

  7. Can be refrigerated for up to one week and reheated on a hot, dry pan.
