Single layer brownie using jam for flavor - may substitute marmalade and orange liqueur for raspberry jam in recipe

Recipe Ingredients for Flavored chocolate brownie

2 oz. unsweetened chocolate
1 oz. semisweet chocolate
8 oz. margarine
2/3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup Egg Beaters
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. orange marmalade
17 g. (2 tsp.) cointreau

Recipe Directions for Flavored chocolate brownie

  1. Lightly butter the bottom and sides of a 9-in. round cake pan. Line the bottom with a circle of baking parchment or waxed paper. Lightly butter the paper. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. In the top of a double boiler, over hot, but not boiling water, melt the chocolates and butter, stirring frequently till smooth. Remove from the heat.

  3. In a small bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, and salt. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, jam, liqueur, and the melted chocolate mixture until smooth. Whisk in the flour mixture.

  4. Scrape the batter into the prepared pan. Bake 25-30 minutes, or until a cake tester or toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean or with small crumbs.

  5. Cool on a wire rack for 5 minutes, then invert onto another rack. Carefully peel off the paper, and invert again onto a plate or another rack to cool completely. When cool, you can decorate by sifting powdered sugar lightly on the surface
