I "borrowed" this recipe from one that I saw on "Everyday Italian" on Food Network. The original recipe calls for using corn tortillas, but I am hooked on "Flatout" brand sandwich wraps and prefer using them. Of course you can substitute your favorite tortilla or sandwich wrap if you can't find Flatout brand. These are quick and easy to make; perfect for appetizers or party snacks.

Recipe Ingredients for "Flatout" Baked Chips

3 ounces Flatout brand Multi-Grain Sandwich wraps (3 wraps)
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
3/4 tbsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp garlic powder
3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

Recipe Directions for "Flatout" Baked Chips

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Line two large baking sheets with foil or parchment paper.

  2. In a small saucepan, whisk together olive oil, oregano, pepper, and 1/2 tsp garlic powder over low heat, just until warm. Set aside and let cool.

  3. Mix parmesan cheese with 1/4 tsp garlic powder and set aside.

  4. Brush both sides of sandwich wraps with olive oil mixture.

  5. Stack tortillas on top of one another. Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, cut them into bite-sized triangles, strips, or any shape you like. Arrange in a single layer on baking sheets. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese & garlic mixture.

  6. Bake until golden and crisp, about 8 - 11 minutes. Be sure to keep an eye on them so they don't get too brown; they will continue to bake for another 1 - 2 minutes after they are removed from the oven.

  7. Let cool, then serve or store in airtight containers at room temperature.
