Recipe Ingredients for Flan

48 tsp Sugars, Granulated
3 large Egg, Whole
3 large Egg, Yolk
2.5 cup Organic Reduced Fat Milk 2% Milkfat

Recipe Directions for Flan

  1. Caramelize 10T of the sugar with 5t water and pour a little into the bottom of each of 6 custard cups.

  2. Beat the eggs and egg yolks with a wire whisk until smooth; add the milk and 1/4 t grated lemon rind, a little at a time, whisking until smooth each time.

  3. Pour the milk and egg mixture into the custard cups and cook in pan of simmering water, on top of stove, for 1 hour.

  4. Transfer the entire pan of custard cups in the water to 350 degree oven and bake approx 25 min, until knife inserted into the center of a cup comes out clean.

  5. Remove from oven; remove cups from hot water and allow to cool. Store in refrigerator, but serve at room temperature.

  6. May be eaten directly from the custard cup. For a more elegant serving, run knife around edge of cup and invert onto desert plate; garnish with mint leaf and red raspberry.
