Delicious thick and creamy appetizer spread. Too much salt overpowers the gentle flavour, so for better taste I suggest using an unsalted milky cheese (cottage or ricotta work well) and unsalted fish roe, if possible.

Recipe Ingredients for Fish roe, yogurt and cheese spread

2 cups yogurt
3 cups cottage cheese
10 tbsp fish roe
2 tbsp olive oil
1/2 fl oz lemon juice
2 tbsp vinegar
1/6 cup garlic, chopped

Recipe Directions for Fish roe, yogurt and cheese spread

  1. In a blender, combine yogurt, cheese, oil, lemon juice and vinegar to a creamy consistency.

  2. Remove from blender, fold in roe and garlic, and mix with an electric mixer or a wooden spoon.

  3. Serve on bread, toast, crackers, or as a vegetable dip. Garnish with fresh parsley, grated lemon zest and/or finely chopped onion if desired.
