My original recipe called for 1/2 and 1/2, but I substituted milk.

Recipe Ingredients for Fish Chowder

2 lbs. Cod
3 c. water
4 medium potatoes, cut in 1/2-inch pieces
1 large onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
1 medium tomato, peeled and chopped
1 c. 2% milk
1/3 c. shredded Cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for Fish Chowder

Cook fish in boiling water until tender, about 10-15 minutes. Remove fish and cut into bite-size pieces. Simmer potatoes, onion and green pepper in broth until potatoes are tender, about 15 minutes. Stir in fish, tomato, milk and salt and pepper to taste. Serve in bowls and sprinkle chowder with cheese.
