Recipe Ingredients for Favorite Beef Stew

563 g baby carrots
235 g celery
575 g potatoes
305 g onion
2 tsp garlic
2 1/2 pounds stew beef
1 1/2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
3/4 tsp dried thyme
3/4 tsp dried basil
1/2 tsp black pepper
400 g canned tomatoes
16 oz. Swanson's 50% less sodium beef broth
1/4 cup flour

Recipe Directions for Favorite Beef Stew

  1. layer all ingredients in the order listed. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 9 hours.

  2. Remove beef & vegetables to serving dish. Remove and discard bay leaf. Turn to high and cover.

  3. Mix flour and small bit of cold water in a small bowl until smooth. Add 1/2 cup of cooking liquid and mix well. Stir flour mixture into slow cooker.

  4. Cover and cook 15 minutes or until thickened.
