Recipe Ingredients for Faux Stowes

1 cup all purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tbsp flax seeds
1/2 tsp sea salt
1/2 tsp dried rosemary
1 cup buttermilk
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp molasses
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1/4 cup pumpkin seeds
2 tbsp sesame seeds
1/4 cup dried cranberries

Recipe Directions for Faux Stowes

  1. Preheat oven 350

  2. Line a loaf pan with parchment

  3. Stir floiur and baking soda together in a medium sized bowl

  4. coarsely grind flax seeds, salt and rosemary, set aside

  5. stir in buttermilk, sugar and molasses into the flour mix

  6. stir in nuts, seeds, fruit, salt and rosemary

  7. pour batter into loaf pan

  8. bake 45 minutes

  9. cool completely.

  10. preheat oven to 300 F

  11. Slice bread as thinly as possible keeping together

  12. Place slices on parchment line cookie sheet and bake 15 minutes a side.

  13. Cool completely on a rack before eating or putting in a tin.

  14. 1 serving is 6 crackers.
