The vegetarian's answer to the burger

Recipe Ingredients for Falafel

1 1/4 cup dried chick peas
1/2 cup onion, chopped
1/4 cup parsley
2 cloves garlic
2 tsp. cumin, ground
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. coriander, ground
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp red pepper, ground
2 tbs. rice flour
2 tbs. canola oil

Recipe Directions for Falafel

  1. Soak chick peas overnight.

  2. Place softened peas in food processor with onion, parsley, garlic and spices. Run until a course meal or paste is achieved. Remove to bowl.

  3. Add rice flour and blend. Form patties. Heat

  4. 1/2 inch of oil until shimmering. Fry patties until golden. 4 minutes on a side. Drain and place on paper towel to absorb oil
