Makes 8 servings



A dense "muffin". You can use raisins, blueberries, cranberries, cherries, apricots or any other dried fruit. Feel free to substitute Low-Fat Milk or Soy.

Recipe Ingredients for English Scones

1 cup Flour
4 tbsp Baking Powder
1/4 cup Splenda
1/4 cup Raisins (or other dried fruit)
2 oz Margarine
1/4 cup Milk

Recipe Directions for English Scones

  1. Preheat oven to 450F (Very Hot - English)

  2. Mix together Flour, Baking Powder, and Splenda in a bowl.

  3. Add Margarine and dried fruit

  4. Mix by hand to a crumbly texture.

  5. Add milk slowly starting with 1/8 oz. Mixing constantly by hand add milk until you have a "rolling dough" texture.

  6. Lay out on floured surface

  7. Roll dough to 3/4" thickness

  8. Cut into shapes

  9. Repeat roll and cut until dough is gone

  10. Bake on plain cookie sheet for 8-10 minutes or until the scones are firm on the sides
