Healthy spaghetti sauce with wild game to cut down on fats and hormones.

Recipe Ingredients for Elk Spaghetti Sauce

1 lb. ground Elk, Loin
2 t. olive oil
1/2 c. water
1 large onion, diced
4 c. crushed tomatoes
2 oz. tomato paste
2 T. minced garlic
1 T. dried oregano
1 T. black pepper (to taste)
1 T. salt (to taste)
1 t. crushed red pepper (to taste)
10 minced basil leaves
1 sriracha to taste

Recipe Directions for Elk Spaghetti Sauce

  1. Saute meat in olive oil; add water as needed if too lean. When brown, add all other ingredients except fresh basil. Cook until onions are completely soft and most liquid has evaporated. Add basil and serve.

  2. Eat with half-serving of pasta (according to package) to equal about 300 calories per meal.

  3. Note: Crushed tomatoes are homemade with no sugar added. Analyzer added a few more calories/sugar for commercially canned/crushed tomatoes which have sugar.
