Recipe Ingredients for Elizabeth's Famous Chili

4 tbsp vegetable oil
1 onion
4 garlic cloves
2 lbs beef, tenderloin
1 lb pork sausage
30 oz tomatoes
15 oz tomato paste
6 tbsp chili powder
3 tsp cumin
1 tbsp oregano
30 oz baked beans
2 tsp salt
2 tsp sugar
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
30 oz kidney beans
15 oz pinto beans

Recipe Directions for Elizabeth's Famous Chili

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a large pot.

  2. Add chopped onions and minced garlic cloves and simmer until soft (not brown).

  3. Stir in meat & sausage and cook until brown.

  4. Add the tomatoes, tomato paste, chili powder, cumin, oregano, baked beans, salt, sugar, and cocoa.

  5. Stir.

  6. Drain kidney beans and pinto beans and add.

  7. Let simmer on low for at least 2 hours.
