Spicy rice and lentil dish high in fiber and protein.

Recipe Ingredients for Egyptian Rice

1 cup lentil
1 cup brown rice
1 cup chickpeas
1 cup macaroni
2 medium onions
2 tbsp olive oil
2 cloves garlic
2 cups tomato sauce
1 tbsp chili powder

Recipe Directions for Egyptian Rice

Simmer lentils and chickpeas (if uncooked) on a low heat for 30 minutes or until tender. Cook rice and macaroni. Mix all four ingredients together in large bowl. Fry onions and garlic in the olive oil. Add tomato sauce to onion and garlic mixture and heat until boiling. Remove from heat. Add tomato mixture to lentil mixture in the large bowl. You can save some of the onions to put on top.
