Egyptian rice (small, very thick grains) cooked with grease the traditional way.

Recipe Ingredients for Egyptian Rice

1 cup rice, egyptian
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp oil
2 cups water

Recipe Directions for Egyptian Rice

  1. Wash and soak rice for 10-15 minutes.

  2. Mix rice with oil and stir over heat until it starts to change colour to light golden, about 5-7 minutes

  3. Add boiling water. Alternatively, add normal water and bring to boil.

  4. Lower heat and cook until rice is soft and water is absorbed. Do not stir too much after adding water or rice will become sticky.
