A gluten free, vegan, protein-full and budget efficient dinner made in a crockpot.

Recipe Ingredients for Egyptian Lentil Stew

1 cup lentils
1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
1 large onion, chopped
1 tsp cinnamon
1 1/2 tbsp cumin
1/3 cup brown rice
6 cups water

Recipe Directions for Egyptian Lentil Stew

  1. Place oil and onion in crock pot turned on high for 10 mins.

  2. Meanwhile mix all other dry ingredients and place in crockpot after onions have softened.

  3. Add water and mix well.

  4. Cook on high for 6 hours, then cut to low.
