Italian seasonings turn a plain omelet into a gourmet dish. Try with Provolone and/or Gorgonzola cheese, too. Prosciutto in place of regular ham would also make a nice addition.

Recipe Ingredients for EGGS: Italian Ham & Cheese Omelet

2 Eggland's best eggs
3 tbsp heavy cream
1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
1 dash salt and pepper
1 oz 2% milk cheese
1 1/2 oz ham
1 tbsp grated Parmesan

Recipe Directions for EGGS: Italian Ham & Cheese Omelet

  1. Spray a non-stick 8-9" skillet with cooking spray. Set over medium-low heat.

  2. Whisk together the eggs, cream, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Pour into pan.

  3. Shake pan to prevent sticking. Lift up edges of omelet to allow uncooked eggs to run underneath.

  4. When eggs are paritally set, sprinkle in cheese and ham. Keep cooking until eggs are softly set in the middle of the omelet. Sprinkle on the Parmesan cheese.

  5. It helps if you cover the pan while it's cooking as the steam cooks the top of the omelet. But check it every few seconds to prevent scorching or over-cooking.

  6. Fold Omelet over by about 1/3. Flip pan to turn out on plate, folding over the other 1/3, for a rolled omelet effect. Cut in half to serve.

  7. You can reduce the calories considerably by substituting 1/2 cup Egg Beaters for the eggs, using very lean deli ham, and evaporated skim milk in place of the cream. Check out "Slim Ham & Cheese Omelet" for information.
