My own version of egg drop soup. I use whole foods brand garlic chicken soup instead of plain chicken stock (not in the CC database), which adds 80 more calories but a ton of flavor. I also use sriracha sauce instead of hot sauce, but it's not in the database here either.

Recipe Ingredients for Egg Drop Soup

1 egg
2 scallions
3 1/2 oz shitake mushrooms
1 tbsp sesame oil
1/4 cup edamame
16 oz chicken stock
1 dash of hot sauce

Recipe Directions for Egg Drop Soup

  1. saute sliced shitakes in sesame oil until browned

  2. add chopped scallions and saute for another 2-4 minutes

  3. add chicken stock and scrape up any brown bits on the bottom of the pot

  4. add edamame and simmer until cooked or heated through

  5. add scrambled egg slowly and in a stream, constantly stirring

  6. add a dash of hot sauce to taste
