Recipe Ingredients for Economical Beef Stew

300 grams Beef, Loin, Bottom Sirloin Butt, Tri-tip Roast
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
1 packet Powdered Beef Flavor Bouillon
1 tsp, crumbled Bay Leaf
1.5 cup (8 fl oz) Water
1.25 cup Mushrooms Sliced
250 grams Carrots, Baby
400 grams Potatoes, Boiled, Cooked In Skin, Flesh
90 grams Celery
0.25 cup Wheat Flour, White, All-purpose, Enriched, Unbleached
0.25 tsp Pepper, Black

Recipe Directions for Economical Beef Stew

  1. Dry saute onion with meat till softened,

  2. Add mushrooms(undrained), bay, water, carrots, potatoes cubed, celery and pepper. Bring to boil, reduce heat and gently boil for 1 hour or until carrots tender.

  3. Mix flour with a little water and pour in. Boil until thickened.

  4. If you like make some dumplings and add to stew.
