Recipe Ingredients for Easy Vegetable-Beef Soup

5 cups water
1 1/2 lbs beef round steak
16 oz. tomatoes, cut up
10 oz frozen vegetables
1/2 cup regular onion soup
1/4 cup celery, sliced
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp sugar
1 cup potatoes, diced
1/2 tsp worcestershire sauce
1/8 tsp pepper

Recipe Directions for Easy Vegetable-Beef Soup

  1. 1n 3-quart saucepan, combine water and beef; bring to boiling. Reduce heat: cover and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours or till meat is tender. Skin off fat.

  2. Measure the cooking liquid; reserve 3 cups of liquid to use in soup. Remove bones.

  3. In saucepan, combine 3 cups reserved liquid, the meat, undrained tomatoes, mixed vegetables, dry onion soup mix, celery, carrots, sugar, salt, worchestershire sauce, and pepper. Bring to boil.

  4. Reduce heat: cover and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes or till vegetables are tender.
