You can use sausage, 8 oz slice deli ham (1/2" thick) cubed, or chicken

Recipe Ingredients for Easy tortellini toss

3 tbsp butter, melted
3 tbsp flour
1 garlic clove
1 cup 2% milk
2 1/2 oz parmesan cheese, grated
8 oz italian sausage, sliced
1/2 tsp black pepper
16 oz cheese tortellini, frozen
14 1/2 oz chicken broth
6 oz spinach, baby spinach

Recipe Directions for Easy tortellini toss

  1. Combine butter and flour in bowl; whisk until smooth. Add pressed garlic and milk to bowl and whisk.

  2. Microwave, covered on high 3-4 minutes, or until thickened; stirring every minute.Add cheese and whisk until smooth.

  3. Brown sausage and add with black pepper to bowl. Mix well.

  4. Combine tortellini and chicken broth in a deep covered baker. Microwave covered, on high 12-15 minutes or until pasta is tender, stirring every 4 minutes.

  5. Add cheese sauce and mix well.

  6. Microwave, covered, on high 2-3 minutes or until heated through.

  7. Stir in spinach, cover, and let stand 2-3 minutes or until leaves are wilted.
