Recipe Ingredients for Easy "Peasy" Split Pea Soup

16 oz split peas
1 ounces ham shank
1 red onion
1 tsp salt
2 tsp black pepper
1 tsp apple cider vinegar
8 cups water

Recipe Directions for Easy "Peasy" Split Pea Soup

  1. Rinse Peas

  2. Place water, salt, pepper, and ham shank over med high heat until water is boiling.

  3. Add remaining ingredients, bring back to boil.

  4. Turn down heat, cover and simmer on low for an hour.

  5. Uncover, and simmer on low for 3 hours.
