Half wholemeal half white bread. Extremely tasty!.

Recipe Ingredients for Easy to make Bread

500 grams Plain Flour
1 tbsp Butter
1 tsp Sugar (Optional for thicker crust)
1 tsp Salt
1 sachel Yeast (pick quick yeast its easy and cheap and can just be added in, use about 5g yeast)

Recipe Directions for Easy to make Bread

  1. Put flours, sugar and salt in a bowl and mix.

  2. Rub in the butter well with your fingertips, then stir in the yeast.

  3. Stir in the water and mix into a soft dough by hand.

  4. Knead for 10 mins on a floured surface. (do it by hand its better exercise!)

  5. Shape the dough and place on a greased baking tray. Cover with a damp clean towel (this stops the dough drying out)

  6. Leave this is a warm place until doubled in size 1 1/2-2 hours!

  7. Uncover and bake in a preheated oven of 230C (450F, gas mark 8)

  8. Baked loaf should feel hollow when tapped underneath.

  9. Tke the loaf out and cool on a rack. (dont cut until completely cooled.
