A very nice and easy every day bread

Recipe Ingredients for Easy French Bread

1 1/2 cups warm water
1 tablespoon yeast
1/4 cup sugar
2 1/2 teaspoons salt
4 cups bread flour

Recipe Directions for Easy French Bread

  1. Put warm water in bowl of food processor with dough blade.

  2. Add yeast and process for a few seconds.

  3. Add sugar and salt and process for a few seconds.

  4. Add the flour one cup at a time and process until the dough forms a ball.

  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead until smooth.

  6. Place the dough into an oiled bowl, cover and let it rise until double.

  7. Punch down the dough and let it rise again until double.

  8. Form two loaves and place them in oiled bread pans and let them rise until double.

  9. Slash the tops lengthwise and bake at 350 degrees for 27-33 minutes until golden brown.

  10. Remove immediately from pans and cool on a cooling rack.

  11. Brush the tops with melted butter if you desire.
