This flat bread is so much better than a regular roll or piece of sandwich bread with a meal. Hot and chewy, it feels like a decadent luxury but its so quick and easy to make. Its great as a side with soup or salad. The recipe makes four pieces. One piece is generally 4-5 inches across and quite filling & tasty straight from the pan warm!

Recipe Ingredients for Easy flat bread


mix:
1/2 cup whole wheat flour
1/2 tbsp baking powder
1/4 cup chopped scallions (optional)
1/2 cup water
2 tbsp of olive oil

Recipe Directions for Easy flat bread

Mix flour and baking powder and onions, if desired. Add up to 1/2 cup of the water, slowly to the dry mixture to form a soft dough that doesn't stick to hands. Let dough rest 5 minutes, then shape into four balls and stretch these into four disks. Fry these in a pan with the oil, turning when browned.
