I love a good Dahl. Yummy easy dahl that's tasty, healthy and full of fibre.

Recipe Ingredients for Easy Dahl

2 onion
3 T oil
2 T curry powder
250 g yellow split peas
4 tomatoes
8 cups water
2 carrots
1 T salt

Recipe Directions for Easy Dahl

  1. Saute sliced onions for 2 mins in pan, with oil and curry powder.

  2. Add dried chick peas and saute for another 2-5 mins.

  3. Add water and salt to taste and simmer for 40 mins or until chick peas are cooked.

  4. Chop up tomatoes, grate carrots, and add them in about 10 mins before it's done.

  5. Use stick blender to blend split peas so it makes a thick and creamy dahl.

  6. Blend as much or as little you want. I usually like to blend about 70% so it's thick and creamy but still has split pea pieces through it.

  7. Serve in a cup, with roti, or spooned over rice.
